Home Made Toothpaste

I love to make things from scratch so I know what is being put in my bodies of my family. As far as toothpaste has gone, I have tried several and have my favorites (Dr. Christophers herbal tooth powder), but they cost money I don't have right now. This recipe is a good one that I usually have the ingredients for.

3 Tablespoons coconut oil
3 Tablespoons baking soda
25 drops peppermint essential oil (make sure it is certified organic)
10 drops stevia

Just mix it all up and put it in a baggie. Cut a hole in the corner of the baggie(teeny tiny hole), and squeeze!

  1. How fun! I just made this about a week ago, except I used Orange and Clove Bud essential oils :) Yummy!

  2. I want some of that coconut oil just because it has Ziggy Marly on the front! I wish I had know about this recipe when I was so poor while going to nursing school. At that time I mixed baking soda with a little salt...it worked as toothpaste but my kids hated it!

  3. You guys are way ahead of me, Marianne and Kerissa! :)
I didn't know it was Ziggy Marly, fun. My kids wouldn't like the salt and baking soda either. It does feel good to have healthy options and not have to pay an arm and a leg for them.
